LIVING IN AFRICA

Living in Africa presents exciting challenges everyday in my life and the future of this Ministry. I am continually amazed at the poverty level and living conditions of these people, yet there is a joy that radiates from so many. When I visit them in their homes or churches, I am treated with great respect and kindness. Most have very little but are willing to share whatever they have with a servant's heart. Many will make great sacrifices at their own expense to serve me food or "chai"( an African hot, milk tea) and I know they will have nothing themselves before they go to sleep for the night. One time, after I had finished teaching at a small church on the edge of Lake Victoria, I was presented with some gifts of appreciation. Some gave me a few coins, others gave of their produce such as a bucket of fresh corn on the cob, but the one that will forever be burned in my mind was a dear lady who had nothing but her only apron she wore. She did not hesitate one second but pulled it off and gave it to me. That red apron has traveled with me many places and it always reminds me that living in Africa can bring JOY, Peace and Fulfillment in my own heart. How? I remember what the Savior gave up for me, HIS LIFE". Is it a Sacrifice to live in Africa? Do I miss things or go without certain pleasures that I grew up with? I am very happy and content. To me, I am learning once again, how to be a better servant, to give what I have, to offer the gifts HE has put inside of me that I might use them to touch a world some have forgotten. Yes, there are needs in the ministry and needs in my life! Yes, YOU can assist in helping these wonderful children learn more of their worth in today's world! Please Pray! Please give and Please don't forget. Whatever way possible, WE can work HAND IN HAND TOGETHER to make a difference in the lives this Ministry will touch. God Bless each of YOU! !!"
